This A.I. Generates Images from Text!

What if I told you that a super-advanced Artificial Intelligence technology could generate images from text captions? That would be magic, isn't it? However, this time, it is becoming a reality!

In this video, we'll look at "DALL-E," which is a neural network trained to create and draw images from text captions. Although this technology is still in development, we will explore some of the mind-boggling demonstrations and discuss the possibilities of A.I. in digital imaging.

My first thought: if this works ONLY with presets which it appearantly does, the A.I. part of it can't be checked, you need external input for that.

I have a question - how do you know that this is drawn by AI - i try the app and it just have lot of combinations in database, but it always show same pre-made images - if it is drawing it - it would be always different, no? I mean - try emogi of evil squid - it always show the same evil squids...

Yeah but those are already made... how long does it take for the ai to do it in real time? Probably hours for just one image... so is not "just a click".

I think it is not AI, you cannot change the text. You can only select a word from the choices. They might have saved a bunch of images that tags every combination. It is just a WELL ORGANIZED GALLERY. I think. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm old enough to remember clip-art going digital (it used to be a monthly subscription where you received printed, camera ready artwork) and thought; "Bah, now anybody can be a designer with a computer and digital clip-art!"
That's what happened and it also polluted the environment, be it printed or digital, with bad layouts, horrible choice of fonts, typos, you name it. I don't think photographers will be out of a job, AI needs to start from something so they'll be fine but the designers lost a lot with the coming of the computers. However, there's no accounting for bad taste (or uninformed taste) so people like me have become consultants. Let someone else, with the use of AI, mangle the brochure, website and etc. so I can come in and fix it! :-) Yeah, design consultant. That's what I am.
