I love you guys, but this is utter BS.
I've been running the base Spirit paired with the JBL 45mm speakers flawlessly since the beginning of Feb. A few days after I'd set them up, Cardo even pushed an update adding more feature support for the JBL 45mm speakers in the mobile app.
I'd also reached out to Cardo prior to buying and been told that they are compatible.
Plus, obviously, they're just speakers being plugged into a 3.5mm jack. S/W support is one thing, but they're obviously hardware supported.

In my opinion, if you don't have a need to chat with more than one person, there's very little reason to not pair these. After store cash, RPM discount, holiday deals, I was able to get arguably the best quality listening experience for $155.

I basically only ride with my wife so this is perfect. My Sena was way too complicated while riding and was like $350 I hated it lol

I have the cardo Spirit and bought the JBL speakers, plugged them in. Downloaded the app, scan the barcode and it uploaded the JBL audio options onto the app. So yes, the JBL speakers are compatible with the cardo Spirit and Spirit HD

GRUFF..

From $100 for the spirit and $150 for the HD a year ago and now the spirit is $170 and the spirit HD is $249. That's a hell of a price hike in one year

Just got the spirit hd in the mail and installed on my helmet. Nice basic and sounds pretty good…I hvnt tried it on the road yet so the overall remains to be seen. Love that with one touch I can access my phone. Also glad it didn’t break the bank.

You can add the jbl 45mm speakers to the spirit, it’s in my helmet. Super audio for not a lot of money.

The test of this line-up, would be to give the boxed unit to someone who has never used or installed one before. And see how they go. Might even make an interesting upload.

In hindsight I wish I spent the few extra bucks for the Freecom 2x over the Spirit HD. The Spirit HD is okay but the volume has to be maxed out while using it, earplugs, and a full face helmet and for music it sounds extremely flat. You can listen to music on it but really takes a lot of the fun out so I just use it for directions and phone calls.

I think it supports JBL speakers because Cardo is selling JBL FREECOM/SPIRIT second helmet kit and I see no reason why it wouldn't be compatible as it is regular 3, 5mm jack speakers, you could theoretically connect it to any device with 3, 5mm jack output. But I agree that there is no reason to get Spirit and buy JBL speakers. I have got FREECOM 4X currently and I have to say it is superb!

Purchased spirit duo as the HD wasn't available here via Lazada, Philippines. As a replacement for my Parani M10's I am very disappointed at the audio quality which can only be described as APPALLING. A total lack of bass results in a painful treble sound. Also there is a delay noticeable between rider and passenger, more noticeable when a horn can be heard TWICE. I fail to understand why a company produces such a bad entry level product as the purchaser is unlikely to consider the higher priced item when upgrading. As an entry level headset at a similar cost (if not cheaper) the Parani M10 wins hands down. If back home in the UK these would have been returned immediately, unfortunately here in the Philippines you pay your money and tough...No returns.

Spurgeon has his info wrong. the Spirit is 100% compatible with JBL speakers.

Why wouldn't these be compatible with the JBL speakers? Isn't it a regular headphone jack output?

The JBL speakers is possible tho, I used a usb c to usb c + aux splitter and connected my jbl speakers and cardo speakers to it(so I have 4 speakers) and It works like a charm, just bought it on Amazon for like 10€
