Professional tile setter here. would be easier to do the mosaic in the niche first, then do the tile surrounding the niche. The mosaic is harder to cut perfectly. When you do the tile surrounding the tile could cover the imperfections of the mosaic.

You should be proud of that! Looks awesome. Wish you showed the saw setup you’re using and whether you did anything to the mitre cuts so they weren’t sharp.

Great job. I would suggest that the next time get a 1/8th thin wedi board and thin set your Mosaic tile to it. When it's dry, you have a perfectly flat mosaic panel to put in your niche...just a suggestion

When using a level put a flat elastic band on either end, will keep level from moving 👍
