I'm agnostic and I have more in common (including values) with christians than with athiests as far as I can tell (at least on average). Being agnostic doesn't cut me off from being pro life or appreciating what the lessons in the bible teach even if I remain agnostic about its supernatural claims. C'mon Rogan I know you can do better.

I'm an atheist but I acknowledge the value religion has in our society. the best part about being an Atheist is I can pick values that apply to my life without constraints. the real difference is all about life after death. religious people believe that once dead you continue some how. I believe once I'm dead that's it. there is no continuation. life is still what we make it.

There are plenty of agnostic people who are not "hardcore progressive" believers. There are plenty of agnostics who move forward using their common sense, which is what led to their lack of "faith". As Hitchens said, organized religion is "invested in ignorance and hostile to free inquiry, " And has caused many of the problems we still have in our world.

Nonbeliever: "I am neutral about gods." This has no burden. Disbeliever: "Gods are improbable." This carries a burden of rational justification. Denier: "No gods exist." This inherits a burden of _proof._ If the denier can't prove his claim (which is impossible) or the disbeliever can't justify his belief (which is easy), then it's a faith position. But no _religion_ can be expressed in 5 words or less!

Atheism isn't like a religion atheism is looking at the ideology of specific attributes of religion those attributes are the moral compass of humanity and where it should be so for example if in one religion or in multiple religions one of the rules state that thou shalt not harm people you don't need a God to tell you you need to not hurt people that is common morality among any species atheism takes this morality of judgment to the core that's really what atheism is all about is the common morality among the human race if you say in a collection of groups of people that war is bad then we shouldn't do War or let's say we need to help our elders or we need to care for any living being on this planet or not idolize money as is as if it's a necessity then more like a want that is that is atheism and you don't need a God or any multiple gods to tell you what is right and what is wrong
