Imar - King of Dublin

Imar, or as you may know him - Ivar the Boneless, was the head of a powerful dynasty of Scandinavian rulers of Dublin and York through much of the 9th and 10th centuries. Alongside other warlords he was a key leader of the Great Heathen Army and was involved in the conquest of East Anglia with Hubba. Discover the life of this amazing Viking King during this episode!

Well done! Ivar or Imar is a fascinating Norse Sea King. Very opportunistic and brave. Opportunistic in the sense that because Ireland didn't have hard cash wealth that England did as far as large quantities of coinage (silver & gold). Ivar & the Vikings did the age old custom like Caesar did in Gaul just sell the people! The Norse turned Dublin into a large slave trading town.
