How to clean a tie at home laundry

This is an easy way to clean men’s neck tie at home

Do not follow this advice. That’s not how you should clean a tie, otherwise it will come out wrinkled and you cannot iron a tie, unless you do it with a cloth in order to protect it from the heat and that would nevertheless be hard to do. Also it will suffer from pulled out threads from the friction inside the washing machine. You either wash it by hand or take it to a good dry cleaner.

inside the sock is bad. i think better to find a mesh bag that closes well like with a zipper, so it can move freely inside, but not snag on anything or twist with the other stuff or the machine itself. then you can wash in the machine. same for dryer.

i sort of messed up a tie and that is what i realized. the tie fabric itself is pretty durable, but some(most?) ties have delicate tags, and the threads that hold the tie together in the back also can come loose. but i think if nothing snags onto the tie itself, you can maybe do it. this is why the "delicates" option exists (my machine, delicate operation is no harsh spinning, that's it). so i dont think anything special needs to be done (for most ties at least), just need to know why it's a bad idea. sock will cause it to scrunch, bad for any clothing.
