IMO, Mazda 3 Turbo Sedan Premium is a better buy than Audi A3 Premium.

Sat in one of those last year at an auto show...
Even being in it feels special, can't imagine how fun it is.
And it's the best looking Mazda today imo, next to the MX-5.

Hard disagree on the infotainment. I love the scroll wheel for controlling screen. It is far less distracting and much more relaxing and takes very little time to get used to using.

put 235 tires on it, add the cs rear sway bar, lower the car an inch or so, and add a louder exhaust. it really changes the car into a speed3. Not to mention the upcoming Tune's for this engine will really fix the lack of power at higher rpm's.

Can't wait to get one, one thing I disagree with continously is the need to put a touchscreen in it.
Just, no. It does not align with the philosophy of the car, it's harder to use and makes the screen dirty. I love how Mazda designed this car.

people never talk about the handling of these. my ‘21 mazda 3 handles like a dream around corners

my mazda 3 is a commercial version of 2022 in vietnam still using a naturally aspirated 1.5 liter engine with a 6-speed automatic transmission with a front wheel drive, although not very sporty, but i am still quite satisfied because it feels interesting the car that brings may it mazda is the BMW of Japan 😂😂

For my 2020 hatch if I put it in manual mode and floor it but not hit the button at the bottom of the pedal it wont upshift for me. It will stay at whatever gear and hit rev limiter. Perhaps you were hitting that button without realising? The purpose of it is to tell the gearbox to target the lowest gear for whatever speed you're at and give faster acceleration.

Of course the US market does get the high powered one and the euro market just won't even tho you can actually use that power on the autobahn. I'm honestly a little jealous but happy to see that they make this at all. Enjoy the cool stuff, it's nice to see!

If you read the manual, it states not to keep it in sports mode for that long. It's really only intended for maneuvering around faster. Its also why the shifting was off before and while on manual mode.

I really wish they would let us have the manual with the turbo engine. I would 100% buy one

Let’s not forget you can get a Mazda 3 Turbo Sedan for 31K with pretty much all the same features as this car.

I'm glad to finally see you reviewing the Mazda 3 Turbo! The Mazda 3 is my favorite daily driver but for sure, the sedan is the only way to go for me as well ❤️🥰

Nice car, but definitely prefer the sedan variant in terms of looks.

Couple of points: first, you can't get the Mazda3 sedan with a manual. It's only available in one trim, the premium hatchback with the naturally aspirated motor. I was actually seriously looking at one a few months ago. Second, good luck trying to get a GR Corolla or a Civic Type R at MSRP. With allocations so low and demand so high for those, most dealers are tacking on outrageous ADM which prices those right out of this category.

All that being said, I've got a deposit down on a Mazda3 hatch turbo premium plus that I found in transit to a dealer. Got it for under MSRP (only $750 under, but better than nothing and I would never pay above sticker for any vehicle). While I prefer a manual, the wife can't drive stick, and she needs to be able to drive this should the need arise. Rear seat room is a non-issue as it's just the two of us, and I'm looking for something with a bit more comfort and daily driveability to replace the modded Fiesta ST I picked up a couple of months ago which, while great fun to drive, I find tiresome on a day to day basis.

And I've still got a 2022 Camaro 2SS 1LE, with a manual, for nice weather, weekend fun drives (which may also explain why the tighter cockpit of the Mazda3 appeals to me!).

I'm not the only one that hustles my Mazda 3 too. The handling is top tier, even under the limits it is so smooth and planted.
