Promises was a Canadian-based pop group which was founded 1978 in Thousand Oaks, California. I'm born 1976, was allowed to "DJ" at the grown-ups' parties ever since I was 3-4yo … but I have never in my life come across this wonderful song before. Nor ever heard *about* it, even.

It's actually two brothers and a sister (Leslie Knauer). Their father was a piano tuner and all 3 of them learned the trade. the two boys do that professionally now, one in Germany and I believe the other lives in Ireland. This was a #1 smash in Australia. Pity it didn't launch well in the USA because that curtailed their further efforts. She was 21 when they recorded the song in '78. She went on to do albums with "Precious Metal." She looks and is built exactly as a former girlfriend of mine at 17. I knew I had it good then and am reminded of that when I see this video.
