How light pollution affects stars in the night sky

At night, artificial light can block our view of the stars. Night light pollution levels determine how well stars can be seen, and are based on a scientific scale that measures the brightness of the night sky. Photographer Sriram Murali filmed timelapse videos of the Orion constellation from eight different locations to show that more stars are visible when farther away from cities.

I watch these kinds of videos to see stars instead of having to travel out of the city.

I went to a dark sky area where the bortle scale was apparently "1" and according to what I checked it was 21.97 mag/arcsec^2, however I saw the milky way but it appeared to be colourless? This was back in mid October at around 8 pm and according to an app on my phone and the Celestron Starry Night software, 2/3 of the milky way was visible.

These moving lights in the sky ...
Are they planes or shooting stars or meteorites?
If they are falling stars or meteorites, why or how do they turn or change direction? Or, are they bouncing off the dome?
Another detail, is this video playing at normal speed? Otherwise, then it is difficult to distinguish if they are airplanes passing with the headlights on ...
