Thanks for this useful content. One of my current clients is using Godaddy M365 and I assumed there were limitations but this helped me understand what those limitations are. I also used to be based in Yorkshire so nice to get some help from a former home :)

Thanks. Ran into this exact problem when I wanted more advanced MS365 features. Go-Daddy didn't make it very clear or easy how to migrate, but I persevered and got it done. Lesson learned.

Hi Jonathan ! Does this means the godaddy MS365 plans you can not use it for building a list, send newsletters, get subscribers, send newsletters to individual recipients and can not do organnizing = separate lists for separate subscribers? I know form a friend that th egd MS365 are easy to setup. Can you use them when your domain and hosting is elsewhere?

Jonathan, thank you. Another reason that I think you did mention in a way. You cannot simply buy more storage for M365. First, teams/SP 1TB limit exceeded, so I want to buy more storage, but MS will not sell it ala carte because I use G-D. G-D says I need at least 5 seats for the next level up. Then I find that the data exceeded limit error is affiliated to a file folder and all the file/videos in there add up to 200 GB, not 1.4 terabytes. So I backed up and deleted the entire folder (double delete). Still shows 1.4 terabytes in team files/shareP. Nice. I if it is not gone by properly showing the smaller size I will need to migrate my teams site and delete the old. As for customer service - G-daddy has been pretty good otherwise.

I have a question please. I purchased my domain through GoDaddy a few days ago, and unfortunately, I purchased a Microsoft 365 email subscription a year. I didn't purchase it at first, because I have owned other domains in the past, and has no issues setting up some email accounts under my domains (not purchased thru GoDaddy). I scoured my new GoDaddy dashboards for my email set up, possible POP3 addresses, or any other email settings. The areas I found were locked, stating I didn't opt in for an email address. And if I wanted more than 1 email address, I had to pay for each one separately. Is there a way to set up an email under my domain, without opting into their Microsoft 365 products? I would prefer to stay away from any applications that have monthly subscription fees.

Thanks.. yes we made that mistake back in 2017 but luckily found an IT consulting company here in the USA that was able to restore to us control of our M365 tenant, effectively kicking GD out the back door, for a very reasonable price. We have too many domains with GD to easily leave completely but that could still happen one day. Cheers!

Thanks for this video. Have you addressed how to migrate from GoDaddy to MS account that can have CoPilot added? And what are you thoughts on adding paid CoPilot to M265? TIA

So if I cancel my GoDaddy 365 product (grandfathered in Email Essentials from GoDaddy) that is up for renewal in a few days who/how will my email (5 mailboxes) be hosted? Can I just get a personal or family Microsoft 365 license and set up my Outlook to work that easy (and cheaper)?? I have Office Pro Plus 2021 on my main PC and Outlook on my mobile device. HELP! I'm confused. Have I been wasting money having both? And while my 5 mailboxes are my business domain do I actually have to buy a business license and pay more? I have a 15 month Family license here ready to go. $100 at Costco with a $10 gift card rebate.

I can attest. I got GoDaddy and it sucks trying to setup a domain with M365. I used Google domains and it was much easier. However, square space is about to acquire google domains very soon

I’m not gonna need all these features - do you still recommend MS 365 over Godaddy for cold emails ?

Also, I would like your opinion on whether those of stuck with godaddy should associate our website domain/emails with the M365 account when they are already working fine through g-daddy? I am not sure where that gets us anything if we are only a 3 person team at present.

Hello there! is there any alternatives of godaddy to buy office365 (if I don't want to buy it directly from Microsoft)

Wish I would have seen this. I noticed issues when they switched to exchange. I moved my domain to other providers, to test them out, and have not been happy w/a few. Now I'm left trying to figure out an email wk around for my sm biz if I stay as the email issues continue, from sign in isssues, to shutdowns and random problems happening to dns records affecting email. Getting tired of it.

Does Mocrosoft offer domain services? My goal is to have a seamless integration.

Haven't figured out yet (but when I do I will update this) - but I can't figure out what you are talking about when you say MS 365 from GoDaddy is inferior - unless you are talking about downloaded apps, which you clearly are not. Where do you get your information that GoDaddy has "re-skinned" MS 365 and is offering an inferior version? How can I tell this when logged in? What you have not mentioned is what happened to me: I just installed the apps from my GoDaddy Business Professional (web-based) subscription.. and the version turned out to be 2016 once installed. That is a much-outdated version, and GoDaddy gave no advance warning of this fact. Not sure if they have anything to do with it. It is probably like you are mentioning, the fact that I have now got two MS 365 accounts, one personal (that entitles me to MS Office 2016) and this other through GoDaddy that *could* entitle me to download later apps, but somehow the wrong account is getting looked up. I will edit this comment when I get to the bottom of it, but I had to first raise the point that I can't see how GoDaddy could have "re-skinned" MS Office and offered an inferior version for web-based users.
