It seems that YouTube is removing most of your comments 😱 many of you have shared your experience, and when I go to reply to the comment, it's gone! Maybe it's a coincidence, but I've never seen this happen before in my comments section 🤔

i've wasted over TWO YEARS with these people. I start to build my site, get frustrated because the builder is garbage, and put it on the back burner...then I repeat the process. this ends today. I'll still keep them as my host but I MUST find another builder immediately! I've ran out of time on building this site because of the growth of my companies

Thanks for your video, Christian. I've been using GD for years and have been so frustrated with generally all aspects of it. I use them for my domain registry and email and have felt trapped because I thought it was a huge hassle to switch. After watching your video, it has become a priority! I appreciate your honest viewpoint!

You’re not lying. Godaddy customer service loves to sell, sell, sell like. I have a question about my website; I’m not trying to buy anything else. And one guy got an attitude about it, idc though you’re going to pressure me to buy something I don’t need.

YES!! You are SPOT ON !! Our 5013C (non-profit) is currently dealing with the EXACT issues you describe...the settings are incredibly difficult to navigate around. Thanks for the info...

Well I’m glad I found this video because I am about ready to start up a website and I know absolutely nothing about it! I work outside for a living driving dump trucks and taking down trees. I am pretty much computer illiterate😭 I SUBSCRIBED to your channel. I’m going to check out the rest of your videos. Thanks for the content!😊

Thank you for this video! I've been using them for domains and hosting for a long time, because I'm not techy and that was the go to source I knew of back in the day when I first got started. I'm curious if anyone knows, I bought hosting with them thru 2025. If I want to switch, will they prorate and credit my account, or is that either a sunk cost or I stick with them type of situation?

I absolutely have had the experience you mentioned with their customer service. I am a people person, I have to do a lot of research to learn even the basic tech pieces, and they have totally played into the relationship building and sales piece when I've called their customer service. The vibe gets very different when I don't want to buy and just want to speak to customer service for actual support.

I remember you from our UI training. We shipped it all to India and you were the guy telling us how much better this was

I just have the same experience, I have been a godaddy customer for years, suddenly all our domains and hosting was suspended, after 5 days the reasons was 3 files that the developer left on the website years ago, I gave them permission to delete the files, I have to wait another 2 days with all services down until the unsuspend it, are they crazy or am I?

I’m currently using go daddy at the moment and built my website with them and I’m rather happy the only thing that’s annoyed me which for me is a big thing is that there store option is to basic, and I wish I knew this before I built my website with them as the store option was something I planned on adding later now I’m a floor layer which when selling products as a whole on go daddy isn’t a problem but in my line of work carpet and vinyl is the number 1 seller so after building my website with them and paying for the extras I was annoyed to find out that I can’t sell products based on dimensions so for example I can’t put units of measurement on my store so if I had a customer want to buy a 4 x 4 mtr bit of carpet go daddy isn’t advanced enough for you to be able to let customers buy products with measurements it’s the biggest killer for my business and I feel annoyed after spending a good week building my site and paying for the extras that go daddy’s shop doesn’t have a function like that really wish I looked at that side before building my website with them. However apart from that I can’t fault them and have had 0 issues with them

Just found this video. been using GD for years now and it keeps getting worse. Domain fee went from $5.99 a year to $25 a year. They no longer have email and migrated my emails to outlook (for a monthly fee). Now outlook will no longer be supported by the outlook app(???) so GD just told me i had 15 days before i no longer had access to my email. The interface there is exactly as bad as you say and customer service is ok, if you call during standard business hours. Every call to them ends with me having to buy a new service and they tell me they’ll send me an email that will walk me through it. Last time it was a link to the GD wiki, yeah, thanks. This video is awesome and you just got a new sub.

I bought a domain name via GoDaddy and I'm still not sure how to get rid of the default template just so I can start with a white canvas for practicing HTML.

This explains everything! I get a ton of traffic and no sales. I have tried everything and this makes perfect sense because my other sites are very slow as well. Thank you for explaining this.

I think the worst thing about Godaddy though is their vice-like grip on the market. I’ve known how bad they are since the first time I ever even researched web development in high school and deliberately chosen alternatives, yet I’ve had to migrate from them TWICE because they keep buying their competitors. Everyone who makes decisions at that firm can go kick rocks.

They just charged me $324.91 for 7 email accounts I didn't order by just debiting my Paypal account on their record. I hadn't used the account for 3 years and never had paid email accounts which they said they were "auto renewing". URGENT!! Turn off any payment methods you have with them NOW!!

Thank you I thought I was going mental . Can you please help. I have five sites with managed go daddy, designed with wordpress. One site a client uses google domains for and cloudflare. So first question where can i migrate to to self manage and host these sites. Second question . Cloudflare has my interest but I don’t appreciate the added charges for image storage so I’d like to move this single google site to the same location my other sites will be . .. will this be complicated ?

Doesn't the privacy also keep your name private when people look up the owner of the domain? Other places offer the same deal.

Totally agree with the criticism that GoDaddy's "support" staff are intent on selling you stuff you don't need at premium prices. Sometimes it feels like a protection racket.
