I like the setup and for sure the idea behind it. I use the same methodology. If everything is on a belt I would suggest adding suspenders to distribute the load a bit. I prefer to use a fanny pack with extra pouches carried on the front and sides so it's not in the way with my backpack.

I'd do the same but swap out the parang with my hand made kuhri. I like the mora/sak combo. I have an Extrema Ratio selvans as my main blade. I was thinking od adding another smaller ER blade piggy backed on it but I may rethink that. The selvans comes with a cordura sheath so I will send it to some one to make a kydex one. I have a limited edition US version of the sak. OHO blade and the usual bits. I might skip the extra cost of the other ER and just go with that,

something I've found useful that does not take a lot of space is a size 8 paintbrush and cut shorter(8-10 cm), i use it for cleaning mushrooms/swiss army knife/electronics/fingernails and other objects. i used to carry it same way you do with the ferro rod and it works well.
