Storm Warning! | How Ships Stay Away From Bad Weather

Ships use a system called Navtex to get weather forecasts at sea. Navtex forms part of the GMDSS (Global Maritime Distress & Safety System), and is the official way for ships to receive their weather updates. In this video we take a look at Navtex, and look at what the forecast looks like. We use the UK's Shipping Forecast as our example.

I really enjoy your work, your content has led me to have an ever more curious interest in anything maritime related (have recently been learning about sacrificial anodes). I'm not sure if you have time to read all of these comments, but if I think it'd be really interesting if one day you made a video about the key differences between 'coastal' and 'deep sea' vessels and procedures (please somebody correct me if I am using incorrect terminology here!).
