Austria, the country right under Germany, has also a "pancake soup" it's called "Fritatten-Suppe", where thin rolled up pancakes are sliced. It kinda looks like a noodle soup.

Pancake is a tricky dish in Europe. As of German pancakes - when you order a "Pfannkuchen" you'll get what you call a crepe. And if you order one in Berlin you'll get a jam-filled donut. So if you really want a pancake, ask for an (american) pancake :)
