The absolute best ways to deal with the silent treatment

Narcissists LOVE to use the silent treatment to punish you. Like it is the weapon of choice of so many narcissistic people it's wild. In this video I will go over in detail how to best handle the silent treatment by a narcissist from the perspective of a diagnosed narcissist.

Welcome my channel! If this is your first time seeing my face or hearing my voice, my name is Lee and I am a self aware narcissist. I have narcissistic personality disorder ( NPD ) and I've been in therapy for my personality disorder since 2017 and it has definitely changed my life because without it, I would have lost everything.

The point of these videos is to help bring awareness from the other side of the narcissistic *buse spectrum. All my videos give perspective on why many narcissists do what they do and the possible different reasons behind them. The victims and survivors get validation and the Narcissists (those that are willing) get to see that you can get help and that you are not alone.

A narcissist is never going to admit they are silent to hurt you. They will blame you, say they are protecting themselves, and come up with excuses to justify what they are doing.

LOL When my ex-narc would give me the silent treatment I would reciprocate and give it back to him. I'm an introvert, so not talking and having my space was okay with me. He's an extrovert and being silent didn't sit well with him. He couldn't stand it when I would give it to him, but it was okay for him to do it.🙄 Now he's on a permanent silent treatment by being blocked!💯

Spot on! One time the silent treatment lasted 2 weeks when I was married to the Narc and we have children. I finally told him on day 14 when he complained about me not talking to him... ( once I started listening to Lee Hammock) I told the Narc " I'm not begging for your attention anymore, if you won't talk to me great!"
He walked out 6 weeks later. We are now divorced 3 yrs in November.
Thank you, Mr. Hammock!! I'm semi-free now, we have two kids, parallel parenting in full force now.😊
He is working on his 3rd marriage now 😅

8 months, not a word spoken between us. He then decided to come to me and tell me that him and his dad got nothing on me when it came to the silent treatment. I then told him, it was peaceful and gave me the time to get my 💩 ready to move and get my own place cause it was OVER between us. The neighbors could hear his wailing 🙄 9 years later, couldn't be happier.

Begging someone to talk to you is just as unhealthy behaviour as giving someone the silent treatment, its's just the other side of the coin.

I give the silent treatment when I am done with them. I am not trying to punish them. I am not trying to get them to apologize. I am not trying to manipulate them. When you disrespect me you deserve nothing from me. I don't want you back.

I do the same. I keep silent and then he answers, then I give him silence.
They are very insecure, and if you treat them the same as they treat you, then they will be ok because they need your attention.

The silent treatment was a gift as far as I was concerned, especially when I knew I hadn't anything. It bothered my ex narcissist more than it bothered me, especially when he saw I didn't care. That cycle gets old once you know what you're dealing with. The only thing I do recommend is during the silent treatment from the narcissist, do not try to leave to go anywhere such as to the store or ESPECIALLY with a friend and you in a good mood and they know what they are doing doesn't bother you because my ex narcissist went into a rage and I was accused of everything
