I now realize why the monsters in games like this aren’t nearly as scary as any of the enemies in Fear and Hunger. As soon as you see them, it’s over. And you get to go back to the game. But in fear and hunger you have to actually engage, and sacrifice, and sometimes even when you lose, the game is not over, allowing you to see yourself get brutalized and tortured for an agonizing length of time. Maybe if more horror games did that, jumpscares would be way more terrifying.

I want to kick whoever started this trend of every monster looking like a bad/uncanny drawing. It’s so played out, like who is supposed to find any of this scary? Is this a horror game for small children? Good horror is supposed to unsettle, this just makes me groan “oh look, another sunken eyes smiling murder monster. Boy oh boy I sure hope he doesn’t get me”

they all just look like scrapped poppy's playtime characters if i'm gonna be honest (ESPECIALLY the cat).
not to mention most of them having the exact same face and very slow and predictable jumpscares💔💔 couldve been better sadly
