While many elements on the Martian Military have reputations for excellence, none have inspired quite the awe(and fear) that the Martian Marine Corps has. Today we'll take a closer look at the Martian Congressional Republic's Marine Corps.

I think one of the reasons the MMC invested so much into power armor was that the average Terran Marine would be 2-3x as strong and quite durable due to their life-long exposure to Earth's gravity. The MMCs power-armor not only offsets this difference in strength, but also does what the MCRN excels at, which is making numbers count, as a single armored Martian Marine could carry as much firepower as a standard squad of 3-5.

It's highly possible that UN Marines had a similar type of goliath suit but maybe an inferior and more outdated version of it. Basically we have to understand the philosophies of the two militaries. The UN military is more about quantity whereas the MCR military is more about quality to make up for their lesser numbers

According to the novel ( Abaddan’s gate chapter 21 ) the UNMC had their own version of the Goliath powered armor, it was called the Reaver powered armor

What I noticed in the scene where the UN and Mars did a joint boarding action on Ceres is that while Martians marines carry what could be a minigun version of an SMG, the UN marines carry what looked like full size battle rifles. It appears that Earth known well and play on their strength of being able to carry heavier weapons. But it also a detail to point out that earth was expecting to fight Mars and battle rifles will be needed to overcome Martian powersuits if they ever encounter in boarding action.

I believe they mentioned in the show that they train at 1g in the ships so they fly at the speed of war.

There's also a line from Bobby(I think) in the show which paraphrased that the first most deadly unit in the system were Martian Marines and the 2nd Most deadly were UN Marines. So i think inferring from that is there must be a similar branch but probably technologically inferior or underfunded.

The UN would in all likelihood have similar units. It follows the doctrine of Light Infantry and Heavy Infantry. One tends to compliment the other. Just like how Armour units are meant to operate along side of Infantry units. Most people think Heavy Armour Units are meant to fight in open fields against other Amour Units. This is actually quite rare. Tanks are far more often used in the role as Infantry Support where each symbiotically provides protection for the other. One only need look at the war in Yemen, where M1 Abrams Tanks were systematically picked apart without infantry support because the Saudi Army is incompetent.

You said there were three branches of the MMC: regular, Force recon and a third that was not mentioned in the show, what was that third branch?
