Making sure minor stroke stays that way

Patients who have a transient ischemic attack (TIA) or a minor stroke have unique assessment and education needs. The Krembil Neuroscience Centre at the University Health Network saw the specific needs of this patient group and opened the TIA and Minor Stroke (TAMS) Unit at Toronto Western Hospital.

My mum had these strokes and I begged her to go to the doctor. But she wouldn’t I told her you may have a huge stroke. But because they went away she thought she was ok. I found her lying on the floor having a huge stroke weeks later. She needs 24/7 care lost her home, mobility, independence, and now has dementia caused by the huge stroke. So if anyone had TIA strokes. I urge you see a doctor don’t end up like my mum. I can do nothing for her now. But if one person reads this and gets help it was worth writing. This video was very informative thank you.

They thought I had a mental illness and was having an anxiety attack the only person who picked up on it was my optometrist. He noticed the large change in the eye sight in one eye and I talked about the vision change like a migraine and I had extremely high blood pressure numbness and tingling on one side of my body memory loss disorientation neusea and confusion. They discharged me told me to get my anxiety under control and the g. P. Is picking up the pieces. Don't have a stroke if your mental health is in any question especially if it's during a pandemic that is from my experience and if your young with low cholesterol and healthy organs no diabetes you will not be treated the same as someone else.

There's literally zero medical info here. How is this useful. You didn't say how to prevent them. This is just a commercial.

I got out of bed one night to get myself a drink of water from my bathroom sink... The second I went to reach for the faucet, I was immediately hit with a severe headache (Not even a warning!) Immediately nauseous and started throwing up. At the same time I felt this rush of intense pain the radiated throughout my ENTIRE body! Then my fingers and left hand got tingly and numb. I laid myself down on my stomach on the bathroom floor, and my words weren't coming out right. I could kind of talk, but the words seemed like they came out in jerks or studders... I laid there for 25-30 minutes.
What happened to me??
I feel as though I have been slowly deteriorating since then, when it comes to eye sight, pauses between words, memory loss, increase in anxiety and agoraphobia. I'm very jumpy and frightened easily...
I was stupid and scared, and never got myself checked out. I know that is a huge NO NO! But I'm just here looking for a little bit of help :)

Wish I had gone to this place. Had all the symptoms of a TIA a few days ago. They did an MRI, CT, EKG, and chest Xray. "no blockage seen, we'll send you home" as I needed help into the car because I was really unsteady. No diaganosis of TIA but they did find "calcification of white matter indicating possible previous TIA's".
