If you're a creative person making and sharing things, self-doubt comes with the territory.

Over the years we've figured out a few helpful tips for how to deal with those negative voices in your head preventing you from making things or taking risks. We hope one or more of these can be valuable to you the next time that pesky self-doubt voice rears its ugly head.

The 5 tips we share in this video to help you overcome self-doubt:

#1: Get out of your comparison bubble
#2: Expand your comfort zone gradually
#3: Change the tapes in your head
#4: Make a lot of stuff and share it over and over
#5: Be honest. Don’t try to fake it until you make it.

The thing about self-doubt is…we ALL feel it. We all wonder if we’re good enough to do whatever we’re doing. But...DO THINGS ANYWAY. The people who make real progress are the ones who can sit with the doubt and still believe in themselves.

Let's kick self-doubt to the curb! And also, let's do push-ups with our significant others on our backs 😂

My biggest issue: Everything you said seemed reasonable to me. Literally, everything. And every time I read or watch motivational things I feel like following the advice and feel like I can do what I think I want to do.

But then, the next day, I come back to the same position I was before: fearful, unmotivated... Don't know what to do.

While I resonated with all five points, my favorite part of this video has to be the bloopers. I really needed an infusion of laughter, and those did the trick!

I loved this! The first one gave me a huge Eureka! moment. I just realized there's no one I'd rather be than me at this moment in time, so yeii me! However, number 4 is my big crux. I spend hundreds and hundreds of hours a year helping other people put their stuff into the world, and although I have my words in dozens of books by now (I'm a ghostwriter, editor and writing coach) I still only have a few self-published chapbooks in my own name, that I don't really make available to anyone. Added it to my to-do list for the week!

When I started my live stream segments on painting I was terrified, but I used it as a step to branch myself further, Now I am planning more produced content because I feel more confident in front of a camera. Thanks for continuing to motivate, you are nailing it!

Number 1 trips me up the most. Probably twice a year I do a mass unfollow of everyone that has creeped into my IG feed or YouTube subs.

Great video. 🤙🏽

This is the first time that I've ever seen one of your videos - BUT I LOVED IT!!!
So thank you for making this. It really resonated with me. Particularly #4. I'm always wanting to make things "perfect" before putting it out there.

I'll continue to work on that (as a matter of fact, I'll be making a FB post tomorrow of a video I recently did. And then I'll work on improving it and post an update within a week. Thanks for the insight and motivation.
=)

Great tips! But in the spirit of being completely honest...I loved the outtakes at the end the most...

This video is just what I needed! Definitely going to focus on on Number 4, I really struggle with intentionally putting my work out there. Thank you guys for all you do!

p.s. Totally loved that clip from Can't Buy Me Love. Made this video even better!

#4 for me. Though, I recently unfollowed 500 people on Twitter and that made it a lot easier to close that tab.

What's the soundtrack include in this video?

I like your words, but I also like your lighting. Can you tell us what setup or editing you used to look so bright and attractive??? XD I mean, I think you're bright and attractive people anyways but this looks gorgeous.
