Germany approves sending Leopard tanks to Ukraine

In an address to Germany’s parliament, Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced that Berlin will send German-made Leopard tanks to Ukraine. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has been calling on European allies and the U.S. to provide weapons to Ukraine amid the ongoing war with Russia.

Germany did not want to be alienated. The whole point of NATO is that our countries work TOGETHER in preventing war. Germany does not want to be viewed as war mongers unless the rest of NATO is on board and it’s a group effort. That’s a very logical matter and I applaud Germany for trying to make the right decisions in a very, very risky and complicated situation. I believe we need to hit the Russians hard, earlier rather than later, before things get worse. Russia can’t be allowed to invade and decimate countries like this without severe consequences.

Like I said, Germany didn't want to be the only country sending tanks! When the U.S. committed to send tanks, the Brits committed to send tanks, the Germans got on board. This could have been resolved weeks ago...
