Germany has decided to send Leopard tanks to Ukraine

Ukrainian president Vlodomir Zelenskyy has sacked several prominant politicians and officials over a growing corruption scandal. They include the deputy defence minister and the deputy head of the presidential office. It's the biggest shake-up of the country's leadership since Russia launched its invasion.

Meanwhile Poland has asked Berlin for permission to send German-built Leopard tanks to Ukraine. And the US has signalled it will deliver a significant number of its own Abrams battle tanks. Simon McGregor-Wood reports.

These tanks will make little difference in this war. The soldiers have to be trained, first of all, to operate these tanks and that is not a simple task as driving a car. If they send them into battle without proper training it will be a slaughter. Secondly, what is 100 tanks going to do going up against Russia's 2000 tanks that they have on the battlefield with over 10, 000 in reserve.
