What’s the point of the hybrid upgrade if you’re still getting the same mpg.

I own a Tacoma and want to upgrade to a new Tundra TRD Pro iforce. The only thing that’s stopping me is I feel like both motors are garbage.

I’ll take the 4Runner. No turbo. No hybrid. No complications.

What’s the point of turbo 6s and 4s if they get the same shit mileage as an 8?

I have the 2023 iforce max TRD 1794 and the highest I’ve seen is 11.5mpg 😂 idk if that’s because of the lift and tires or what 🤷🏻‍♂️ Think the previous owner (4k miles before I got it) may have tuned it, it’s strangely fast

Unfortunately it’s not about mpg for companies, it’s about trying to meet the lower emissions standards laid out by government.

Thinking of trading a 21 4Runner for the new tundra, what do you think??

North Park Toyota in San Antonio is a dishonest con shop. I stupidly traded in my 2018 Tundra for a 2023 Tundra with defective brakes and air conditioning. They were so desperate to sell it to me, they delivered it to my house and tried to force me to sign an "As Is" clause even with a manufacturer's warranty. First they lied and said the brakes were new so the squealing was normal. Then they admitted that the brakes were a "known issue." I brought the Tundra in a couple of times, they wouldn't do anything. The tech offered to resurface the rotors for a fee (it's under warranty). Wow, they don't even try to address the issue for free). Toyota does not care about you. If you live in Texas, stay away from Toyota. If you live in San Antonio, especially STAY AWAY FROM NORTH PARK TOYOTA. STAY AWAY FROM ALL TOYOTA DEALERSHIPS IN SAN ANTONIO.

I literally on average get 18MPG in my 2020 with the 3UR-FE and 4 wheel drive
And I 91K on it, a number the V35A-FTS will never see.

My GX460 will do 21+ mpg at 70 mph on cruise control and my Nissan Titan can do 20+ mpg at 70mph

That’s bad for a hybrid. I’ll hold on to my 2018 f150 until they figure out how to get 25-30mpg with a proper hybrid system.
