In Kolkata, it's not spitting in the food. It's is spitting in the tank of water that is used for cooking. The family elder or business owner spits. Many people already know this. I was made aware in 2001.

All this video says is that it is not the Muslims who admitted that spitting is part of the halal process. But is there an outright denial by Muslims that spitting on food is required to make it halal? In other words, do they clearly say it is NOT required? Otherwise, it is not very reassuring.
