While many countries, including India, have spoken of the need to reduce reliance on #China particularly in the wake of COVID-19 and disruption to supply chains, trade figures released last month showed imports have only continued to surge in 2021 , rebounding after a fall in trade in 2020 because of the pandemic.
What did India import from China in 2021? What is driving India’s imports? What are the implications for #IndiaChina relations?

When the Chinese officials go to bed, they think of the US. When Indian officials go to bed, they think of China.

Supplying raw materials to the neighbour country and buying finished goods from the same. This was the same thing we did when we were under the british rule.

Problem in India is infrastructures are too poor, corruption, political infighting, lack of stable policies, poor education in technical-know-how, religions and cast based segregations, lack of government funds for R&D etc. Because these problems India lags far behind China in FDI which also brings in technology and manpower along with money, which subsequently spur local small and medium industries as supply chains.

Indian students and professors are smart. Let me show you a case for your study. A company called Foxconn closed many of their factories in China in 2018 and moved them to India, Vietnam, USA and Mexico. But from end of 2021, Foxconn decided to move them back to China and beg China local government to provide assistance. Can anyone of you spend sometime on this case study and come back to tell us your findings. This could answer the Indian problems in industrialization.

Was window-shopping in Little India, Singapore. Noticed that many ornaments used for religious purposes to worship Hindu gods and deities are made in China. These include decorative items for celebrating Indian feativals. Such is the dependency for goods China.

So even if we buy local it's not local. The govt should tell industries to be local but all businesses care about is profit so no nationalism for them . Only common people should show deshbhakti . Wow the hypocrisy.

India has hundreds of problems of its own. Athough MODI government came up with "vikas" and "ache din aayege", it has eventually returned to what yogi adityanath aptly described as 80% vs 20% politics.
The vision and direction of a country are not different from the politics of country. Accountability forces the government to rectify its inefficiencies, but if you can just tell them that they have to vote for you just because you are a muslim, or a hindu, or a dalit or a yadav, you just set the bar for accountability very low

dependent on enemy country to such an extent(100 billion dollars= 75, 66, 75, 00, 00, 000 rupees) is not good for diplomacy. PM. Modi restart your jumla, "atmanirbhar bharat" and do work actually on ground. rupee is worst currency in asia. and what we are doing, only banning aaps. ha ha ha. reduce dependency on china.
