SpaceX Falcon 9 CRS-4 launch and reentry IR footage

Показать описание
NASA WB-57 chase plane footage of the SpaceX CRS-4 ISS resupply flight that launched on 21 September 2014, 05:52:03 UTC. Footage is false color, telescopic mid-wave IR video taken by the plane flying at 50,000 ft. No audio.
This version was modified to run at real time instead of 1/3 speed.
The footage was captured due to NASA's interest in supersonic retropropulsion that would be relevant for future large mass deliveries to the surface of Mars. It's the first successful attempt at imaging a Falcon 9 first stage reentry burn after the previous two imaging attempts were unsuccessful.
