Home Insurance companies will inspect properties after the policy is issued to make sure they know everything regarding the property and are not caught surprised if a claim happens.

Do you have a swimming pool, trampoline, or wood stove that they didn't know about.

Insurance carriers will also look for any hazards that could cause a potential claim. They might offer recommendations or might give you a list of requirements that you need to comply with. The purpose of this is for your own protection especially in the event of a liability claim.

Insurance companies have 60 days after a policy is issued to cancel that policy for any reason they see fit.

As properties continue to get older they are starting to require more interior inspections. Checking things like the electrical, plumbing, and heating sources to verify they have been updated.

They also like to send people to your home without notice and then you have some random person taking pictures of your property while you're at work.

Crooks. Every one of you. You inspect to escape paying people! Don't mind collecting those premiums though.
