This makes me tear up. Wish I could forget this game and experience it all again. When this song hit at the start of the game I was like "fuck yes, this is how you do it". Such a well done game. Props to falcom

This song right here is when I knew I was in for something special. When this song hit after picking up that sword, fighting those wolves, and realizing I was on the Island of Seiren, I understood immediately I was dealing with something new. This was the love of adventure in its purest form. This was the joy of experience. The thrill of not knowing what would happen next. Everything I ever dreamed of, all in song form.

I've been an Ys fan _since._ This song is THAT powerful.

This was the track that helped convince me to try Ys VIII. My mate linked me this while I was waiting for the Collector's Edition that he gifted me, and so I thought "Well if the music is this good, is the gameplay the same?"

When the game arrived, I proceeded to sit down and play the game for 16 hours straight without realising. I was THAT invested into the game. When I saw the counter in the pause menu and my stomach growled for food, I concluded "Yeah, I love this."

Ys VIII was my first Ys game and I was blown away by it. It may not have the best visuals, but everything else about it pretty much perfect. Exquisite soundtrack. My playthrough clocked in at about 85 hours. I spent a lot of time goofing off. I regret nothing.

Around the start of this game I was feeling burned from the new direction the Zelda series was taking. I felt the need for another game to say 'hey, let me take you on a journey' instead of the open world approach of ' hey, go do something!'. It was when this track played that the game was telling me. ' Hey, I got you. You've had a great run with Zelda but don't be bitter at its new direction. Take my hand because I'm about to take you on an incredible journey.'

And that's how Ys became my new favorite series. Thank you Falcom!

4 years ago on this day, I played Ys VIII for the first time. When I first heard this song, I was immediately hooked. Little did I know that this company would go on to give me some of the greatest moments I've ever had in gaming, and introduce me to my two favourite composers of all time, Masanori Osaki and Takahiro Unisuga. Words cannot truly express how much value Falcom and its developers have given to me; they have my eternal gratitude.

The music of having a great adventure ahead of you. It was painfully nostalgic returning to the starting areas in later parts of the story, knowing that this wonderful game will soon come to an end, and you will never be able to experience it for the first time again. Isn't it weird that one can feel sorry and at the same time envious of other person, of those who haven't played Ys8 yet?

I've played all 9 translated Trails games, and just today started Ys 8 as my first Ys/ Falcom game outside Kiseki. God did I not expect this to be the first field theme I heard. Such a cool moment.
