It sounds too crazy to be true, but can a tiny elementary particle really be God? Surely you've heard of the "God particle" that scientists in Switzerland have been able to locate. These scientists now announced a puzzling discovery at the Lage Hadron Collider in Geneva. The particles suddenly exhibited unexpected behavior that calls everything into question and shows in a shocking way that we can never know everything.

Peter Higgs:

A British theoretical physicist and Nobel Prize laureate “for the theoretical discovery of a mechanism that contributes to our understanding of the origin of mass of subatomic particles”.

Satyendra Nath Bose:

An Indian physicist, specializing in mathematical physics. He discovered one of the classes of particles, which came to be known as the “Boson”. Bose worked with Albert Einstein to define the two classes of subatomic particles: fermions and bosons. Bose was awarded Padma Vibhushan, one of the highest civilian awards in the country, by the Indian government in 1954.

The Higgs field is a "sore spot" in zero-point energy. Think of a two-dimensional tabletop covered with dust. This is a crude representation of zero-point energy. Now scrape some dust into a neat little pile. This would be matter with mass. The small, clean circle surrounding the lump of mass would be actual space, created by the creation of matter. There is a tension between the lump and the edge of the clean spot. Entropy wants to spread the lump back out. Since the lump is locked in place, it ends up centered in the space in which it was created. It forever stays centered by the Higgs boson. The Higgs boson is only for this. It has no other function. Create one in a collision and it will immediately decay. It has no matter tied to it, so it is just a loose end for the zero-point energy.

Boy y'all love making nothing seem like a grand event. Gotta start holding you accountable for my time wasted.

lol The Boss still holds the Secret Fire close to him and always will. :) We will never find the Flame Imperishable :)

Just like our Space Based Telescopes will get bigger and bigger to see farther ironically the LHC must keep getting bigger to see smaller. If you talk about and think of this in Scale, both machines are virtually looking the same distance in opposite directions for the same thing. The Beginning!

I'm a whole lot more worried about driving to and from work than I am about the Hadron collider. There are many, many things far more likely to end humanity than the large Hadron Collider. For example, humans and their nukes, climate change due to humans dumping waste into our atmosphere, and how the worsening droughts and floods will cause more human combustion (in the form of endless wars). For all our intelligence, we are extremely unstable and unlikely to have a long future in my opinion.

Higgs B and Gravitational Waves are silliness.

Soon, they will have to shutdown that collider because of the insane price increase of electricity. Those huge magnets consume enormous amount of electricity for zero social return.

The Higgs Boson reminds me of Leibniz's "best possible Monad" with the Monad being the zero-dimensional space binding our quarks together with the strong force.

I'm thinking they become invisible/undetectable.

Scientists often use the term GOD when they don’t know.

Out of 12 min session..only one sentence got light..the boson has modified opinion on stable energy mass..as transient 🤔 pls update on this and other extra info was nice to be minimised.🙏

The science fiction content here is so engaging and mind-bending. I love how it explores complex scientific concepts in such an accessible and entertaining way

what is the dark side of the scientists.
if they find out the beginning do they WANT TO BECOME THE CREATOR

I’m sorry to disagree with the presenter on the argument that seeking the truth of creation is futile, if it was we would all be back in the stone age!

Great AI. Voice doesn't. Sound stilted at. All. Btw, no scientist calls it the God Particle.
