Man, I gotta tell you. You have the best no-bullshit Notion content on YouTube. The best.

I think you're doing an absolutely incredible job. No matter how many "aesthetic" notion setups in see on YouTube, i always get drawn to the minimal look you established. It is the only thing that is making me stay and keeps me on track, doesn't get me started on customising my pages in a million different ways. Keep it up, your templates have been incredibly helpful for me. The finance tracker and the PARA system were tremendous. Keep'em coming champ!❤

I was listening to the second brain audio book about 1-2 months ago. This video helped me a lot setting everything up since I was not using Notion before.
What I was noticing though was that I needed an entity smaller than "projects" for all the little things I wanted to keep track of. So I created a new page "tasks" that relates to a project just the way a project does to area.
Each task has a status as well (just as the projects). Also I added a filtered view of my tasks to the project page, so I can see what things are to do for each project individually.
Now I can keep track of everything more granularly. Helps me a lot.

This is a great introduction to help me start building my SB in Notion. I was finding Notion a bit overwhelming but this has provided a solid starting point 👍

This is easily the most helpful Notion + PARA Method video I've ever seen. Actually just Notion even, because I'm new at it and learned so much about how it works and what we can do. I've been watching Notion videos for months and never have I felt this good after setting it up using a video tutorial. Thank you so much!

To archive all the projects of the area that is archived:

1) In projects go to properties and choose "Rollup"
2) In the drop down of Rollup - In Relation - Choose "Areas"
3) In Property - Choose "Archived"
4) Set Calculate as- "Checked"
5) Choose any form to show, switch off the show number option and hide the property in view.
6) Now, In projects, add a filter - rollup - assign value 0.
Done.. Make these changes in archive folder too
Add an advanced filter to the projects section in Archive Page where the filter has both Archive set as "Checked" OR Rollup set as "1".

You are a life saver! I love the simple, yet tremendously useful setup without complicated stuff like a task manager. Thanks :)

A very helpful video. Looking forward to more parts. Tiago Forte's Building a Second Brain came out last year and is fantastic. 'The PARA Method', his next book is released mid March 2023. If you have proof of purchase you get access to a Q&A.
The BASB book comes with a 3hr Masterclass with proof of purchase, detailed in various BASB email subscriptions.

Why so many PARA implementation in Notion treat Areas as a categorization for Projects. But Projects and Areas serve different roles. Areas, unlike Projects, is a section for non-time-sensitive, or long-term, or life-long goals, activities, etc. For example, Travel Bucketlists (non time sensitive), Finance Tracker (lifelong routines), etc. If you want to add a categorization, just make a different database independent from Areas or you can use Archive instead so you can search files in Archive section per category, like Study, Personal, Business, etc.

Nice templates. Learning a lot. And really good TTS voice on the YT Channel. It almost had me. I'm sure Google allowed it to get monetized. Which voice platform are you using Murf?

This was great, thank you! One downside I see is that when you archive a project, it will still be shown in the progress indicator of Areas.
