I visited Guatemalan a few years ago and also Antigua on a Mission Trip and was also studying Spanish, so like you said, you get a lot of exposure and practice. I wasn't there just for Spanish learning of course, but regardless again I got a lot of practice and learned a lot of new vocabulary. Antigua is a beautiful city with the large volcano nearby... just a great experience. Good for you and I am happy for you. I so admire your ambition and bravery to go. 😉😇

How advanced do you think one's spanish needs to be to benefit form a program like this.. intermediate? advanced? I can have basic conversations with native and bilingual speakers and even impressed my bilingual cousins this past christmas with my conversational skills. However, the langauge is still a bit fast to me, I have so much daily vocabulary that I still need to learn, and more advanced grammar like subjunctive is still a bit of a mystery that I plan to tackle this year. Would you say I could still benefit from this program in 2023? I plan to study at least 2 hours a day this year and was hoping I could reward myself with an immersion trip.
