Nancy answers a YouTube viewer's question in this Ask Nancy. Ellen in the Netherlands asks, "How do you fit all of the quilt in the machine for quilting?"
Various sewing machines have different sized throats. If your quilt is really large, you might want to consider asking someone with a long arm sewing machine to finish your quilt. Nancy's quilt is around 90 inches long. She slides it under sewing foot and needle and continues pulling more of the quilt into the throat of her sewing machine until she gets to the place she would like to start free motion quilting. She likes to use some sort of gloves or LicketyGrip (a type of lotion to help grip your quilt). For the large sized quilts, she likes to use gloves. Let us know if this video helps you with your free motion quilting. Post your question below and Nancy may answer it in her next Ask Nancy. Thank you so much for watching!
