When I first heard that Die Hard 6 was cancelled I was so upset. There's no doubt we all deserved a much better final installment for John McClane. However... after knowing about Bruce' illness, it was such terrible news, man.

Watching this final shot for his most legendary character, it's actually close to perfect; McClane, after all he's been through, he's now reunited with his kids, walking together on a sunny afternoon. I am now very happy for this finale.

It's nearly 10 yrs since this movie and I guess John left Holly hanging on the phone since 1995 Die Hard 3. Hope we can see John doing Die Hard 6.

I don't hate this movie like everyone else, but it could've and should've been a lot better than it was though. That said, if this is indeed the last scene in the Die Hard franchise? As damn perfect an ending as can be.

Certainly not the best movie to end the Die Hard series on. It's not unwatchable, just awfully generic with a script that lacks the identity of a Die Hard film.

In hindsight, though, considering that Willis is officially retired and grappling with his aphasia, as well as Disney burying the franchise, this ending is at least nice enough to be his send off.

The last bit of dialogue pretty much encapsulates the enduring legacy of John McClane.

Jack- "Let me ask you something. You lookin' for trouble, or does it always seem to find *you*?"

John- "You know, after all these years, I still ask myself the same question."

The final scene with him and his kids together, it looks peaceful, like he regained his family. McClane is smiling in a freeze frame before it fades to black. Like I said, not a good movie to end the series on, but it did give us that.

We can continue to spit venom at this film or make peace with it. For better or worse, AGDTDH is the final film. I choose peace. Miss you, Bruce.

Idk why when I watched it online it didn't show this part even tho I remember it having this scene in theaters. But I really like how they added this at the end. Kind hope they do a McLane family reunion in the next movie, maybe with the mom. Who knows. Lol
