He is an American reggae and pop music singer-songwriter, best known in the US for his 1972 hit, "I Can See Clearly Now". He was one of the first non-Jamaican singers to record reggae music in Kingston, Jamaica. On August 19, 2020, Johnny Nash celebrated his 80th birthday. UPDATE: Crossover reggae-pop star Johnny Nash passed away on Tuesday October 6, 2020. The news was announced by his son, Johnny Nash Jr., who told the Associated Press that the elder Nash died of natural causes at his home in Houston, Texas. The singer-songwriter, actor, producer, and record label executive was 80 years old.

Classic performance by Mr. Nash who wrote this song. I love all the covers including Hothouse Flowers, Jimmy Cliff and Ray Charles - but Mr. Nash is still the best. This brightens every day for me.
