Solo Snowstorm Truck Camping (CATCH & COOK Ice Fishing)

My dog and I are solo in the backroads of British Columbia and off-grid trying to catch some dinner. We are truck camping in sub-freezing temperatures with no heat source except an electric blanket. Will I catch my first fish under the ice BY MYSELF? This was such a fun one.

My dog and I are based in British Columbia, Canada and spend the weekends adventuring, exploring mountains, camping, paddling, fishing, riding motorcycles. Thanks for being here :).

Thank you for supporting mine and Kyro's adventures. We love making videos and Patreon will help us put more time and effort into giving back to you.

Your views and comments on YouTube also mean the world. See you next week.

In my youth I hiked the great divide. A tip because I was always alone I carried 200 feet of nylon cord 1/4 inch is heavy enough. Anytime I went out on ice no matter how thick I thought it was, I secured one end to something and trailed the rest behind me. If something were to happen you can pull yourself out.

As someone who is fond of watching true crime documentaries, I always feel scared watching your solo camping adventures. LOL! Please be safe. I've always wanted to do these things, but I don't have the guts like you. Love you, Maddie!

There is definitely some unnerving feelings about walking out on a frozen lake. I’ve never made pine/spruce tea before and will definitely try it now. Thanks for taking us along!

You are amazing! Just a tip for trout: You don't have to filet a trout. The skin fried up is super tasty. For trout, just cut out the gills and guts, and the blood on the spine with the back of your finger nail, roll it in flour or crushed corn flakes and fry it up in butter. The bones just pull out super easy and the tail fried crispy is like a potato chip. Other fish, like walleyes or sunfish, you should filet them. But you will get much more meat from a trout without fileting. I love your videos, attitude, happiness!

Madison, I'd watch you reading a newspaper. You're such fun. I particularly love that you dress Kyro for the cold. I know people who don't consider their dogs in the cold (or on hot road surfaces in summer). He always looks happy so you're obviously doing a great job.

I work in forestry in the East Kootenays, and when I am training new people on tree identification, I use basically the same method. Spruce needles spin, Balsam needles bind.

It's scary when you get unexpected visitors at night.
Maybe get an outdoor Bluetooth speaker. You can transmit different sound effects from your phone.
Guard dogs, creepy horror sounds. (Keep it a secret and scare Parker one night)

Please be careful Madison. Not that you aren't already, it's just easy to want to push it when you're crushing new experiences haha. Been watching the vids for a long time and your growth in independence is inspiring. I have no doubt you will continue to crush it.

Also. The shots of Kyro getting his winter fit on and getting excited will fuel my brain endorphins for days.

You are one of the most brave young women to go out and explore on your own. Keep it up dude, I really love the videos!!

Climate diversity is truly fascinating, while you're experiencing a mix of hot summer and rain in my region, other parts of the world are still buried under heavy snowfall. It’s a stark reminder of how varied and unpredictable weather patterns can be, even at the same time of year. As said, Earth is really incredible
