"At Asus, we believe in empowering users with choice."
Do you pay us $200 for unnecessary repairs or should we send your RMA back in pieces?

I haven't watched very far yet, but im open to snapdragon chips. I dont care about ai, but I'm interested to see what they do with SI's with dedicated gpu's

I also hope that the system builders working with Qualcomm will quickly consider discrete GPU offerings. The TOPS (Tera Operations Per Second) values inherent in dedicated GPUs are significantly higher than those of any integrated GPU product, not to mention the superior graphics performance. Many potential sophisticated buyers will not consider an integrated graphics solution, regardless of the battery life benefits.

If the battery isn't consumer replaceable, you'll just have a not so heavy paperweight in 3-4 years.

I really think that Microsoft is truly subsidizing Co-Pilot button enabled laptops, you can tell by the amount of money Microsoft has vastly dumped in this experiment by the first presenters enthusiasm.

I think that the tech-aware consumer space is anxious to have an alternative to Intel/X86. The general consumer space, not so much. It's going to be very hard for Qualcomm to convince the majority of people that a "real PC" doesn't have "Intel inside" unless the battery life is truly a quantum leap ahead of what they've become accustomed to. It's not like the Mac community where brand loyalty means whatever Apple says it means. I think there is a definite opportunity for Qualcomm to enter the Windows PC space, but only if their offering is so dramatically better (without a bunch of gotchas) that people are going to step out of their X86 comfort zone. At $1000+ dollars, you're asking the consumer to take a substantial financial risk. They've already been duped about "great battery life" with their current PCs and especially their phones. Most will say, "I've been to this dance before, and everyone there was ugly!"

So, if I understood this properly, Snap X is faster than x86 at running the Windows OS, but this is with Windows not actually doing what an OS is supposed to be doing.. Running programs and multitasking..

When Jobs was pitching the iPhone was he promising what it could be or what it was?

"We haven't heard a lot about battery life." It is all I have heard about is battery life. I want to know everything else.

This is all cool and probably long overdue considering how long smartphones with custom chips exist by now. But then Intel can make cheap CPUs too. And many powerful smartphones are anything but cheap. Is it really changing anything but adding inconveniences with old software?

I really hate this kind of company circle jerk, . they all appear on each others presentations and are all each others best partner

I have seen so many people who buy Chromebooks or cheap laptops and then complain and regret their purchase.

All those companies are all in with all these new snapdragon devices but it's Smith with zero money invested that has it all figured out.

This presentation was cringe as hell especially the future uses for AI.

Why so many negative comments from you two while the conference was playing.. Weird.

Microsoft surface laptop has been released for about two weeks, but still there is no third party real life use test about battery life ? really weird.
