Mike's parents were always there and supportive of his secular goals. His mom was an English professor and his father was an actual rocket scientist. So night and day from Chester's life. But that shows just how close they were, that Mike was able to understand the impact the lyrics and music had on Chester's life. The fact that a song he wrote(Mike), could still impact Chester's emotions and memories at times. They were kindred spirits, opening each other's eyes to empathy toward another person, no matter their upbringing. And that's what Linkin Park is about.

It’s been nearly 6 years and it still hits hard

Chester has been hurting for decades, and his mind couldn't take it anymore. I'm on my second decade trying to hold on and hopefully I'll make it

These two guys, so different from each other, made pure magic together. But I feel for Mike. Just as Chester helped making LP what it was, he also took LP with him when he left this Earth. What a difficult thing for Mike and the other guys. Their life's work ended so abruptly. Mike himself said that in one of his songs. We will always miss Chester but we also mourn for LP.😢

Man, if Mike thought that childhood was crazy, he should meet the next generation of kids who grew up on his music. Most of us were neglected while our parents did their best to keep a roof over our head. Not that it’s our parent faults necessarily either. I just feel that whole outcast persona became a common thing as the decades went on

The first time I heard a song from LP was when I did not know shit about English but I cried to the song. Somewhere I Belong is that first song. I start learning English after that day because I wanted to know the meaning of the lyrics. I cried again because my childhood was that of a shattered family. LP save my life.

After hearing lost this hits harder
Just how Chester and Mike can be connected like day and night
Chester: "I will never break away"
Mike: "Can't break free..."

Such a turbulent life and even then such a great talent. This man was special. I hope he found the rest that he was missing in this life

A lot of us did grow up like this, and that pain of not having parents who cared hurt then and still does as you age. At the end of the video I noticed the word play, this video shows Mike saying "I didn't like that" but in reality on this interview he said "I didn't grow up like that". Huge difference

Damn, Chester's upbringing is like my own. When I was homeless I did harddrugs on the roof of my school too. Linkin Park meant a lot to me and helped me through that difficult time.

I cried when I heard he died. I love Linkin Park's music. His voice can't be replaced

At the end, Mike says I didn’t grow up like that. Not I didn’t like that.

I've barely avoided jail, used since I was 12 and their music was sometimes the only thing keeping the heart pumping. I had to subsidise my parents with different forms of music and art. I just wish his music helped him like it helped me.

I'd say I have a pretty blessed life. But I guess my frustration in myself for doing absolutely nothing with it is what puts me in the mood for LP. I think I don't always relate on a lyrical level, but an emotional one.

Mike and chester are real brother. I cant imagine the pain mike had to go through when he heard the death of chester. His pain was more than chester's wife im sure of that.

I miss him... Still can't believe Chester is gone.. it doesn't seem real.. There will never be another version of Chester.. he was my idol and always will be no matter what Chester felt those lyrics I'm guessing these ppl only sang it without relating to the lyrics.. Chester was suffering with depression and unfortunately hung himself and committed suicide..
And u can clearly see the pain in his eyes in the music video numb. That was all his feelings..
No one will ever replace Chester even if their voices are alike or smth and sounds good There will never I mean never be another Chester
One saved millions but millions couldn't save one unfortunately
Rest in peace Chester u are my idol and always will be no matter if ur in heaven now I hope Ur singing up there for all the angels as well as you sang on earth but sadly u couldn't stay... it was so bad I hope you found peace now...
