Why a used Nissan Armada is such an insane bargain

Known as the Nissan Patrol around the world, the 2017 Armada had the internet convinced this was old technology for a new price. The one thing the internet missed was literally everything.

The generation of Nissan Armada came to the US as a 2017 model but had already been around for years at Infiniti dealers as the QX56 and QX80. The truth is, this generation of Nissan Patrol came out in 2010...so why should you consider spending your hard-won money on something that's been around for so long? Let's take a look and find out.

Used Nissan Armada review. The Best SUV under 20000. Best SUV under 20k

Buying a used Nissan Armada? The 2017 Nissan Armada has a 390 horsepower V8 engine. New Nissan Armada horsepower is 400.
The Nissan Armada 2017 and newer gets about 16 mpg average.

The Nissan Armada problems include lower gas mileage and a smallish 3rd row seat.

The Nissan Armada tow capacity is 8500 pounds vs the new Chevy Tahoe which has a 7900 pound towing capacity.

In my car reviews 2021 and best SUV's 2021 I am now in my 5th year of telling you that the 2017 nissan armada, 2018 nissan armada, 2019 nissan armada, 2020 nissan armada, 2021 nissan armada and 2022 nissan armada represent an incredible value for the money. Take a look at my car reviews 2020, car reviews 2019, car reviews 2018, car reviews 2017 and I am sure my car reviews 2022 and best suv 2022 are going to still include both the new nissan armada and used nissan armada for sale near me.

I have a Nissan Armada 2004, 345.000 miles, it works perfect and convenient for our family of 6 people. I love it!!💜

Great review! I grew up in Kazakhstan. I remember Nissan Patrols and Toyota Land Cruisers used by the United Nations all over Central Asia especially in conflict zone like Afghanistan, Tadzhikistan as most reliable vehicles available. At some point oil and mining companies tried to bring Suburbans following the U.S. embassy suit. That did NOT work very well given the vast spaces and absence of proper road surfaces at the locations they were operated. In most cases Suburbans designed for smooth roads would not last a year. Patrols and Cruisers won the battle hands down. They were every kid’s dream vehicle at the time.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks the 2017+ Armada is such a steal used. The Nissan Patrol it’s based on is a true global market off road vehicle

I am personally a bigger fan of the old Armada. I got a 2014 in 2017 for 18k with 126k miles. It looked new and has been the most awesome vehicle I ever owned since. I like that the old one has a larger trunk.

I’m from México and usually used cars market is always worse here than in the US, but today, I went to a Nissan dealership here in my city and they have a 2017 Nissan Armada (equivalent to the Platinum in the US, literally has everything!, power tail gate, the console in the mid row, the screen in the headrests, all the security stuff with emergency braking and all that) it’s around 63K Km (40K miles) and it’s only $28K 🤯 and I’m literally buying it as soon as I can!! Thanks for this Vid! I’m super happy now!

I recently picked up a 2017 Armada SV (with Driver's Package) and ~100K miles for ~$20K and I am loving it!

We bought a Platinum Reserve new in 2014, has been flawless now at 120K and has taken my family through some hellish road conditions.

Nice video Joe! I was in the market for a new race car hauler, and ruled out trucks and vans (need a 2500; also $$$$.) My one exception to your advice is that I prefer to find low mileage cream puffs, which can require patience and timing. I pounced on a 2020 SV with 44k for $26.5k, but had to drive about 3 hours out of state to nab her. A pain, but worth it!

**Don't forget that the internal transmission cooler fails early and allows coolant migration into the transmission destroying the transmission. Nissans knows this and covers up the issue. First thing you should do is to install an all aluminum Mishimoto Radiator and then you will have a 500K mile motor and a transmission that will last nearly as long.**

Liked this video immediately bc I’ve been looking at secondhand Armadas and there’s tons of deals to be had with the second gen.

Great video. Unfortunately, in this ridiculous market, I’m not sure the value is still there, certainly not at 20k

Good to see you're still making videos! I ran across your GX470 video randomly. I just picked up one a few months ago and I love it! How it can be so real good and so plush at the same time! That thing is like Schwarzenegger in a tux.

I snagged a new 2019 platinum for 49k at the end of the year before Covid hit bad. Still only has 14k miles. Think I’m gonna be good for a while.

I rented a 2023 Armada in Canada for one full month and put around 3, 000 KM on it driving all kinds of roads for different uses. Indeed a tough platform that is built to last. Not short power but thirsty on fuel. 2 things I didn't like are the seating position and performance on rough roads at speed. You will experience some serious jumping on suspension joints or rough patches on the high mostly due to the body on frame structure. I am used to premium vehicles when it comes to seats and I wasn't able to get the seat configuration to feel at home mainly the back and knee support. But all in all it is a machine that can't be beaten for the price.

4:59 It's not only fully independent suspension, it's double wishbone suspension, which is one of the best kind in this category. the only disvantage is they are expensive to build.

I had a 2014 Armada Platinum and now I have a 2019 Armada Platinum Reserve. They are both great vehicles, but the 2014 had a softer ride.
