When your still eating but not using your fork and knife at the moment, you place both at the very top of the plate stretching across with the blade of the knife facing towards the plate. However, when you are completely done eating you put both your fork and knife on the right side leaning onto the center of the plate so it makes it easier for a waiter or anyone else to pickup the plate without the utensils dropping. You also want to make your napkin kind of neat again on the right aide of the plate when you’re done, never EVER ball up a napkin! Hoped this helped someone. :)

You do not cross ur fork and knife. If u point them in a triangle shape, it means that ur still hungry or not finished. If u put them parallel next to each other diagonally, it means ur done, finished. Putting ur elbows on the table is also considered as rude. These are often outdated but just to let u know.

A crossed knife and fork means that you’ve stopped but not finished. They should both be at 12 to indicate that you’re done eating.

With cutlery, you start from the outside and work in. The salad fork is the one furthest to the left.

For the where do you put your utensils one, it’s actually proper etiquette to put them at five o clock on your plate to show that you’re done (not sure why it’s 5)
