This is such a great backing track. I had never used the E Phrygian Dominant scale until I came across your site. I’m a rock and blues player and this has opened a new door for me.
My wife is a belly dancer. She heard me playing to this track and shimmied into my studio to bust out some slinky moves. I think this may be the start of a new collaborative project for us! Thanks heaps!

My name is Freije, which is modernized Arabic and Phrygi. This sound is in my SOUL, an it enables me to close my eyes and relive the energy in the hearts and minds of my ancestors from 3, 500 years ago.

Great backing track. Perfect beat for improvisation.
Little tip, use the gliss from 1st to 2nd position to complete the scale. This eliminates the big jump to 4th finger and sets you up nicely.

Excellent scale to play along with. Each key opens a new door :)

Wow in the past I always scoffed at the idea of playing to videos like this. I think I was wrong, though, this was very informative. Thanks!

Great track! Actually I like to throw some "phrygian sounding" scales in it other than the Phrygian dominant, such as the double harmonic (byzantine), with its natural 7th, which adds another flavour to the track.

Heya. Thank you for the content! I loved Arabian tunes after your channel and now practicing almost every day to master it. That sounds awesome and thanks to your comments in the video I understand why.
I have a question on this track if you don't mind. I noticed D sounds somewhat "unstable" in the scale. I feel like I don't want to stay on it for long or to finish a phrase on D. The only reasonable place for it to me is as a quick bridge to move through the scale. For example, it sounds good during a quick legato E-F-E-D-E with long stay on E.
Could you explain a bit here? I suspect myself doing something wrong.
Thank you!
