A Portable FOLDABLE OLED Monitor | Asus at CES 2024

Asus brought the world's first portable OLED monitor that you can fold in half and take with you wherever you go. It's a 17-inch QHD OLED monitor that can fold into exactly half that size for easy carrying. It's based on the ZenBook Fold from a couple of years ago, but turning what was a full laptop into just a portable monitor. It's definitely a more practical use of that foldable display technology.

The portability is a nice bonus but what really interests me is that it’s a modern OLED and it’s 4:3, two qualities which I don’t believe have met before. Barring a billion dollar BVM this looks like an excellent display for pre-widescreen emulation, original hardware connected to a scaler, or if you want to watch The Lighthouse.

A portable 17" can fit in a large laptop bag. it needs to be 20" for it to be useful.

Wonderful idea! I agree that using it as a monitor is much better than a semi polished laptop. The 2022 laptop seemed too weak for my needs and had issues. I have used foldable phones for years now (since the samsung fold 2) so this seems natural and very interesting to me. I already have the Asus Pro Art portable monitor but I am really considering getting this one too.
