Primary drive is a 2TB NVME. secondary is a 6TB platter.

Platter can be useful for large archival storage

I'm not a creator, but i still use Sata ssd as OS, cause it's still 80% good, after 9 years.

Very well put together video and the graphs are very useful.

last year I built an I7-12700 on a Aero G DDR4 mobo with 64GB G.Skill Trident, 2TB MP44, 500gb MP44 boot drive, a 2 TB WD Blue 2.5 ssd a Seagate Barracuda 6TB and a 3060 OC. It was the best I could do within my $1500 budget. funny thing is it cost slightly more today. I actually got the Aero mobo for half off. I think I did alright. What do you think?

My main drive is 2TB and is over 75% full. It's not that hard to fill them up if you use a lot of different software. Unreal Engine 5 alone is probably over 500GB along with the different versions, plugins, and files I have. Plus AI programs and models add up fast. Then I have lots of other stuff form Adobe to Davinci to C4D etc etc...

I just installed a 2T as my primary because the price was very good. With the way I work, I fill my boot drive fast.

2TB > 1 TB on primary drive can be desirable because the performance of any line of NVME at 2TB is superior to that of the 1TB version.
It's not just about capacity.

You know for a lot of us creators we are also interested in how stable a motherboard / ram config is. Not a lot of tech tubers covering stability. Its a good niche to fill. ProArt vs Aero stability + more ram config stability tests would be excellent. Maybe achieve it through calling on a stability survey since it is time intensive.***

19:32 best believe that! And it's not just creators, this is IT in general. Security systems and servers, networks, etc.

My primary drive is 512GB NVMe. Upgraded yesterday from SATA SSD 256GB. Last year's AliExpress model has almost died…

As a Photoshop and After Effects user, currently, i have primary nvme drive is 256gb which is very low, and i have one more nvme of 512gb for scratch disk. I also have one 18TB mechanical drive for storage. But my PC is now 6 years old and running Windows 10. During this year i will buy a new PC and will be with nvme 1TB for Windows and programs, and another one of 1TB for scratch disk

Honestly, the amount of work that went into getting the data is likely one or 2 tsql select with a few joins a group by and ordered by a rank of count or ordered by month asc.

🙂 thats pretty cool graphs from Puget, your the first one I see that is covering it on my feed. Microcenter sometimes have the i9 cpu motherboard ram combo bundles for 400, and while your there pickup an RTX card. Why would u want to get anything else? Its computer not a console.

4 and 8 TB drives for AI workflows with datasets. I keep my learning sets on a secondary nvme, but I suppose maybe some people use primary for that.

Music is only too loud at beginning. Great video about Puget. My assumption regarding the primary drives being 2, 4 or 8tb nvmes is creators who also game but its odd they would do that agreed. Unless they only have one nvme slot

Been AMD for years but my next big build is going to be Intel + Nvidia, when they release a 5090 or whatever. Especially with AI it's going to be a game changer. AMD has never really felt good to use for me, always weird little issues and lack of software support in the creative industry, fine for gaming. Loving the Asus Pro Art stuff. 👌🏻

4tb m.2 primary, then 4+2tbm.2 secondary, then 20tb HDD storage+backup. Games + films + TV shows. No I don't need all that, but it sure is nice to have! 😀

I have an 280 Gb Intel Optane as my primary drive ... Love it .

You set up a 512 GB system partition on a larger nvme SSD. This way you save an NVME slot for additional NVME SSDs. Not perfect, but nvme slots are limited.
