After being subjected to meddling and bullying from the UK government, Apple has announced that it wants to remove iMessage from the UK.

Apple is tired of being bullied by the UK government, and it's looking to take some action to rectify the situation. iMessage is one of the key features of Apple products, and the company wants to ensure that it remains free and accessible to everyone in the UK.

If you're in the UK and use iMessage, make sure to stay logged in and keep an eye on the news to see what happens next! This is an interesting story that will definitely have a lasting impact on the way you use Apple products! If someone is claiming to be me and using Whatsapp or Telegram to give you a prize, it's a SCAM!

I'm grateful for Apple. They are protecting the US users. Yes, they will lose market share, but they are willing to take that hit. It's awesome. Let the people that are losing these services complain to their government about it.

As much as I don’t like Apple’s tactics, they’re totally right with this. The US government dismantled the black panther party.

They are right about this. Encryption should not be disabled.

Go Apple! Thanks for standing your ground! I think if the government or the police need access to information on someone’s phone, they should get a court order on a case by case basis. General surveillance of everyone’s phone because “there are criminals out there” is bonkers, and not in any way justified.

not just Apple but Whatsapp and Signal as well. So if this passes, there is going to be a lot of backlash.

I don't usually like Apple's tactics but in this case it might be the right move because it will cause the consumers to respond in outcry to the government's moves which is more powerful than Apple trying to decry it themselves.

Governments have 1 job to do. They have to put laws in place for the people of their state, country, or continent so that everyone is happy and content somehow. And nothing else. They don't have the right to tell technology companies what they should/shouldn't do. This is getting out of hand now.

I think it is not that big of an L from the perspective of Apple. In Europe way more people use Whatsapp than they use iMessage and FaceTime for texting and video calling. I think that also goes for the UK.

As an Attorney, I hate the idea that the Government will be able to read the messages between Attorneys and their Clients.

the EU told apple they can make a perpetuity usb- c cables that was months ago and the EU said no way and stopped apple from doing that.

Most people in EU and UK even iPhone users don’t use FaceTime and iMessage though .
UK is being dumb, but Apple even if they remove that feature from the UK won’t lose sells.

Simply put,
"Should the government..."
"NO!"
End of discussion.

Good to have you back doing tech videos, since you actually do creative and different tech videos

i agree for the uk law but as living in EU i 'm glad that usb c is mandatory, the only reason that Apple kept the lightning cable is money not for technical purpose.

I wonder if there is a work around for FaceTime on iPads and Mac’s?

I totally agree. It’s the right thing to take a stand against governments intrusion, and to our lives. That’s none of their business. I’m thinking the same thing as you. It’s kind of weird the way they’re going about it but if that’s what it takes I’m glad that at least they’re willing to take a stand.

Great topic. I think it's OK for the govt to intervene against tech to "protect the consumer", but not to "infringe on the consumer". Like right to repair one's own iPhone, where Apple has resisted. You raise some gr8 topics...
