Amazing content as always. I started to dose Kalk via the echo tech Versa, and have only seen positive results. Corals love it and ph is up.

I've been using kalk for many years. All of my ATO water passes thru the kalkreactor. I can do this because I don't use any float switches or level devises. I have a litre meter that doses a set amount each day at equal set intervals. No chance of a spike. If I see the water level in the sump start to drop I just boost the litre meter output a few points or vise versa. Salinity I monitor and correct accordingly. Normally I rarely have to touch it .

I’ve been dosing kalk from a Bashsea 10g reservoir with a Versa. For me this has worked great, and I don’t find it loses potency to any discernible amount. I dose about 16 hours of the day when ph is at its lowest and dose Alkalin8.3 for about 12 hours when lights are on to keep Alk stable.

Started using a Kalk reactor and I notice during the night time and with the cold weather I have to bail water out of my tank and add salinity back ever few days (25g tank) along with using All-for-reef, my alk is a constant 9.0, Ph 8.2 - 8.4. I have incredible growth and am already starting a second 40g tank with a sump.

Great info!! I'm close to trying the ACI way of dosing Kalk...we shall see. I have a friend with the same tank that is trying it now. :-) Might wait and see how it affects his PH.

Dip the kalk reactor tube under the water level in your sump! You’ll see less of the carbonate build up in the stirrer

I've been doing something similar for the past 6 months or so. Although I use my ato. I could have done it differently with a solenoid, but I have a day ato and a night ato, the night ato pushes water through an icecap kalk reactor. Right now I'm only stirring the kalk twice a day. Currently ph lo/high is 8.15-8.3 and alk 8.55-8.7

i m dosing kal from 10 am to 11 am, i had seems different kepping my calcium and alkalinity. but not so much with my ph i m not sure if i m doing something wrong 5 gallon of water and 5 table spoon. i dose 144 ml daily. before dosing kal my calcium was 375 now 410 my alk 7.8 now 9.7. i started dosing kalwasser on feb 10

I have been watching this video and the previous one, and I can't wait to try it on my 75g cube.
The only concern I got is that i'm running Zeovit and I was told that Kalk dosing does not align with this method as it parcipitates Po4 to a point it is hard to test. So it might get the microbium out of balance. I would love for your 2 cents about it, or anyone tgat has experience with running Zeovit with Kalk 🙏

Hey dev, great video as always mate and glad to see you testing this as I was thinking the same thing when watching your chat with chris last week. Wondering what times your CR is turning it self off and your thoughts on just dialing it back a little and letting it run all day and night. Wondering if the alk curve would be similar then to the ph as you wouldn’t need to wait for it to come back on after bottoming out??

So I know this is probably old fashioned thinking, I’m able to get a pH swing of 8.1 - 8.3 simply by having fresh air drawn in from the outside and using that to feed my protein skimmer. Alkalinity is around 9.0, calcium around 450 and magnesium around 1400. I think Kalkwasser Is still useful, but good old-fashioned air from the outside still seems the simplest solution. I do live in a cold climate, so my intake is about 40 feet away and that allows plenty of time for the air to warm up and has little to no impact on the temperature of my tank.

i think stability is constant and consistent highs and lows, not a consistent level personally

Also, at ~3:40 you show an ALK tile on Fusion. How did you add that? I have a Trident.
