in germany we use knipex' end cutting nippers (or as we call them 'flechterzangen') to tie rebars. but i tried the american pliers as well and they're pretty good too. they need to have longer handles tho. i'd say the knipex end cutting nippers are better for tying fast single ties e.g. when you do rebar for slabs. when you need strong ties then use the american style pliers. what i really like about the american workflow are the tie-wire reels. we don't have these in germany.

Beast end cutter for me is the 61 01 200 - (Offset) Bolt End Cutting Nipper use it for rural fencing - cutting 2.5 mm high tensile fencing wire and tie wire.
The 71 31 200 KNIPEX CoBolt®Compact Bolt Cutters with the recessed cutting jaw are very easy to use with rural fencing and are also on my belt
Have put my Maun pliers and Parrot Beck Fencing pliers in the relics drawer.

I've heard they're a great tool for pulling staples.

I use the pliers to secure circle clamps made by Oetiker. With the longer handles I get excellent leverage. That also helps when I Cut the circle clamps off of a fitting.

Hello, I recently purchased a pair of Double Prism Grip Pliers made by Knipex and am very happy with my new tool! Now, I am looking for some kind of cutter that will cut through metal and that will have the blade right at the tip.  This is because I am reupholstering my couch and found these really heavy duty staples ingrained into the wood.  These cannot be removed with a regular tack claw. I need to cut the heads of the staples in half and then remove each half.  I have used the grip pliers to do this whenever the other regular, rusted staples got broken, but this time I'll get a pair of carpenters' pincers.  I found this video to see if the End Cutting Nippers would work for me, but because the blade is not at the tip, they won't, for it would not be possible to reach the staples with the blade.  Would you be able to advise me on which tool to purchase?  I'm sure Knipex has something for me, but I am overwhelmed with the amount of cutters available to buy.  Please help!  Thanks!

Hi KNIPEX, what kind of lubricant/grease/oil would you recommend for applying to pliers? Should i use mineral oil, PTFE grease, white lithium grease or silicone spray? My co-workers say WD-40 but I doubt that because i read that WD-40 is not a lubricant. Thanks!

What is the model number of the heavy duty pliers? I'm a mechanic and these would come in handy.
