Blue Letter Bible. Finally! I’m getting something out of the Bible. I go to my favorite pastor, and listen to his lesson on the verses I’m reading. Now this, however verse by verse notes, I may be ready to try that to add to my bible reading. Thank you.🙏

Somewhere along the way I developed a special interest in ancient near East cultures and that has opened up the Bible much! There is so much that's not explicitly stated in the text simply because the original audiences would have already known that information.

What works for me since I have a really bad attention span some days is rather than forcing myself to read as much as I can each day, whenever I feel distracted or disconnected from what I’m reading I leave my Bible and come back later that day or sometimes even the next day…there’s no point in reading it if I don’t understand and remember what I just read
