I honestly felt emotional from this scene. Bruno and Mirabel made a connection emotionally. They both feel been blamed for no reason, treated unfairly, and accused they did not commit. I just can't believe Alma would do something harsh to them like that. All that mount of pressure drove Bruno away after he saw Mirabel's future, he doesn't want his niece to suffer the same fate as he did.

He isolated himself because his visions didn't help the family, but he loved his family so much he decided to fix the cracks in the house, but since he was so scared of them, he decided to create a new personality who wasn't afraid, just to help even a little.
Poor man

1:43 after watching this movie I honestly believe that this wasn’t a case of an uncertain future, but rather the present based on how Mirabel feels.

For example, when she was singing with Isabella in “what else can I do”, the candle burns brighter as she feels genuinely accepted by her sister. And when she finally confronts Abuela Alma with her “I’ll never be good enough for you” moment, that’s when Casita literally falls apart. In fact Mirabel only noticed the cracks just moments after she finishes her song where she admits she’s not fine.

Usually, most sad scenes in Disney movies take a minute or two to really hit me. I usually start crying during the middle of even their saddest songs. But... Just the sight of that plate alone... The sadness hit me in seconds. It hit me because it was personal. It was a HUGE slap in the face. You ever see a movie that made you feel really called out? That's what this scene did to me and it had me connect to Bruno more than any other Disney character. I really empathized with him in that moment. He went from "Yeah, he's endearing. But, he'll reveal himself to be the villain at any moment" to "Oh my God! He loves his family so much, but he wants to stay away because he feels like a burden!" I felt so horrible for thinking for even a second that this endearing ratman might be the villain!

Even after everything bad his family did and said about him, he still loves them. Protect Bruno! 💚

It pissed me off that NO ONE apologiesd to this man. The end was so rushed.

I kinda like how at first the movie seemed to set Bruno up as the villain only to flip it and reveal he’s mostly a nice guy. Who’s just made a big sacrifice for his family

I blame the Grandma 👵.

If she really care about the family, she should have protected Bruno but instead she turned the family and the town Against him

Bruno: 0:29 0:31
Me: Bruno, I think what you're trying to say is: "And...contrary to what everyone told you about me, I'm not a bad person...I just had bad luck".

This reminds me of my relationship with my nieces

Keep in mind that the family's history is more grey so I'm sure that Bruno being socially awkward led him to misunderstand few things.

No one's mentioning that Bruno isn't even on the "Thanks for watching" end screen.

Really can't stand this family for how they treated Bruno

Sitting in silence, hearing the family belittling him behind the walls all these years

Abuela lying about Bruno running away, when she knew fully well he was still within the walls

Didn't even bother to meet with him, talk with him, feed him, or associate with him at all because Abuela essentially banished him out of shame

Abuela gas lighting the younger family members into believing Bruno was evil and wanted to destroy the family

Making it Taboo to speak about him, or to go look for him

And in the end he wasn't even given an apology

Just a "hug" to make up for years of "Bruno evil, mad cos bad"

Honestly pathetic of Abuela, no wonder the magic was fading.

Really show's how quick Abuela was to demonize her children for not having a useful gift (Bruno)

Not having a gift at all (Mirabel)
Or for not being a "Yes Man"

Hell, Abuela looked annoyed moments before Antonio got his gift because she thought he'd be another giftless child.
