- God set up all the government that existed in the world Rom 13:1 - Let us br subjected to them for conscience sake.
- 1 Timothy 2:1-2 - How faithful have we been in fulfilling that duty of praying for our leaders (good & evil)?
- This a fundamental duty of Christians - it is founded on the 5th commandment
- Eph 6:5-8, Rom 13:5

- Is there no room for disobeying the civil authorities?
- Obedience to God supersedes obedience to earthly authorities - Acts 5:29
- Pray for the government - Matthew 5:44
- Some are tempted not to pray for them not because they are ignorant of their duty but because of bitter resentment.
- Let us pray for despite their unrighteousness reasons. Praying for them shields you from bitterness and resentment. It is the key to emotional freedom. 1Tim 2:2-4
- Our mandate is to pray and to submit, and to wait patiently to the LORD.
