How to Mute a Section or Part of Audio - Premiere Pro CC 2021

Muting a section of video and audio is easy in premiere pro cc 2021. First step is to drop the footage you want into the timeline. Next, click on the audio track and place your playhead where you want the mute to begin. Next, hit control K (PC) or Command K (Mac) to cut the audio and video at this part.

Now move the playhead forward until you reach the last part you want muted. Do the same thing again. Then you can either a) delete the audio section completely or b) right click on the audio and select audio gain - adjust gain by and then enter in -96 db.

just cut out what you want muted> right click cut-out part> select "unlink"> allows you delete audio only

You don't need to cut tracks to do this. Just right-click on FX button at the begining of the audio track, click Volume - Level. Gray volume level line will appear (increase height of audio track to see it). Then Control-click (on MAC should be Command-click) on the gray line to add keyframes. After that you can change volume level on the part of track, between keyframes. If you want to transition, you shold add at least four keyframes: ▔\____/▔

does anyone know how to cut on pc, anytime i select the audio it highlights the entire bar and when i cut it deletes the entire thing! i want to break it down into sections like the guy did hear but i cant figure it out
