Both are very nice and unique cars, but I'd prefer the Polestar 3 in this situation, it just hits different🤤

Definitely the Polestar 3. I do like to EX90 a lot, but I prefer more sportier cars in the SUV segment. I currently drive an XC60 T8 Recharge, and I think the Polestar 3 is a perfect next step 😎

I’ve had 4 XC90s in a row… two gen 1 and two gen 2… so it’s obvious that I like the car.
Essentially with the XC90 we have safety, sturdiness, reliability and a lot of flexibility. Wether the mission is to bring a bed frame from Ikea or to drive my sons and their buddies to a concert, the XC90 does it well.
I also don’t have to worry about potholes and the occasional visit to countryside roads.
I’ve ordered the EX90 the day after the presentation. Long wait ahead.

Just saw your video. Both car has very similar spec. but Polestar is taking the lead in my part simply because the look. I'm really looking forward to having a test drive on both car when it is available.

I prefer Polestar. But then, I also prefer the Polestar 2 over the 3 because it is smaller (and less expensive) while still being practical (for example with the hatch back) and large enough for our taste and use. And what a great drive it is over a mountain pass - I just love it 😍

Both bigger than my house is interested in, but we'd go for the sportier 3. What we're waiting for is the Polestar 4!

I actually prefer the Volvo look, and it’ll be more practical too being a 7-seater! In UK I think PS3 should come through about £15k cheaper, which is a fair amount of cash… that’ll sway many buyers’ decisions.

If you can afford either, then it’s down to personal preference. Either way, two great new EVs, so you’re onto a winner with your order there Kris.

I bought the Volvo EX90 during the introduction. On one screen I was looking at the presentation online and on the other I was mailing my dealer the specs. The minute I saw it I was convinced. What a beautiful boxy SUV. Very much like a Range Rover indeed. I ordered the 517 HP Performance with Tailored Wool and all the options that where possible. I’m only trying to decide for the exterior color as I can still change that. It’s between Platinum Grey (I ordered that one) and Denim Blue (I love that one but everyone is telling me it will look dull on this car). I don’t think I will like the feel of the “vegan leather” so that’s why I ordered tailored wool. I already wanted to try that.

I prefer the looks of the Volvo EX90, but also the rear door access in the P3 looks compromised because of the low door height !

I'm ordering a P3. I was looking at the Porsche Taycan CT, but at same equipment we are talking about 30k+ difference... welcome trade-offs....
Then Volvo or P3?, we are three at home, no need for 7 seats... Higher car means larger front section. At higher speeds in highway it means more resistance and more consumption (they have the same underpinnings so the only difference is the front section and drag coefficient).
The good part of pre-ordering is that if I decide that this is not what I want when I test drive it, then I can withdraw my reservation and wait for the Macan EV.

They may be on the same platform, but the P3 is definitely smaller than the EX90. It's closer in size to an XC60 because of the no third row. I would definitely prefer the P3, and actually the P4 when it comes out. That will be basically a coupe version of the P3.

For me no doubt, same battery more power in the Polestar 3 LRDM a more sportive aspect, and cheaper. My vote goes to Polestar 3

As a 3rd row is not possible for the Polestar 3, it may turn away some shoppers. However, while I have no interest in the 3rd row in the EX90, I want the larger and taller rear compartment.

Over the next 4 years I will be spending more time in the Netherlands and less in California. I was shocked to see the taxing structure for vehicles (petrol, hybrid, and EV). The tax on passenger vehicles - belastingdienst (BPM) makes owning a high performance petrol passenger vehicle very expensive. A Porsche Cayenne Turbo for example would have a BPM expense of $45K and VAT expense of approx. $22K.

Seems like an EV is the only way to go.

If you talk to people at Polestar HQ, can you please ask them if 19-inch wheels/tires will be usable on the Polestar 3? (I don't want any wheels/tires larger than 19 inches on my cars for safety and handling and range and cost reasons.)

EX90 is significantly prettier and more practical than the Polestar 3. I'd love to have both an EX90 and a Polestar 6 (O2 concept) in my garage!

Will you talk about the upcoming NIO EL7? Its actually better equipped than both of these and delivers 655hp /0-100 in 3.8s:) ( 658l trunk before seats are down..The equipment is second to none. I like these two, but they are to high priced imho

Volvo teased a slightly smaller model ... maybe the 'new' EX-60 at the very end of the 09/11/2022 launch of the EX90. That is what I want to see. I don't need the EX90 size. I drive a 2021 XC40 P8 Recharge (Twin Pro - though it is not referred to here in the US that way for 2021) and would like something just a bit bigger and maybe built better as a true Electric vehicle (less drag coefficient). Do not get me wrong - if Volvo doesn't release anything in the mid-size SUV class I will be keeping my XC40 P8 Recharge model until the battery dies (10 - 12 - 15 years or uh oh 4-6-8 years - scary to some extent, how long will the battery packs last though I believe Volvo will stand by its products). If I was to pick between Polestar 3 and EX90 - for me it is an EX90 - just not a 'sports' car type person and the swooping 'coupe' back on a SUV doesn't look good to me. My spouse would love that swooping back though so different strokes for different folks as in everything. Nice work on covering the differences as always Kris.
