or you can do:
square root of 0.25=0.5
5%= 0.05
0.5-0.05=0.45

if u keep in mind that any percentage us just the number itself divided by 100, so for example:
50% = 50/100 = 0.5
move the decimal point twice from right to left and u have the percentage

Another simpler way : 25% is 1/4.

Sq root of 1/4 is 1/2.

1/2 is 50%.

Now, 50% - 5% = 45%.

Lt's say we take 25% of 100 which is 25, square root of 25 is 5, 5% of 100 is 5, 5-5 is 0, what did i miss?

This question is easy but a very good question. It tests various things all in one go. I am going to put this in the next exam.

It make sense when you solve it like this. But in actual application, 25% - 5 % is either as simple as 20% if you are just subtracting that 5% out or it could be 23.75 if you want to reduced 25% by its 5%.

How the faq are you going to use this
25% - 5% = 45% in actual statistics.

25% = 0.25 and square root of that is 0.5 (0.5 squared is just 0.25) and 0.5 - 0.05 = 0.45 = 45%

I just punched this into my Casio fx-82MS and it says the answer is A (0).

An even simpler way is seeing that the answer can't possibly be anything other than 45%

thats why I never use elementary symbols in math. percentages are considered something that doesn't go beyond grade 7, most of the time, you'd see fractions.

Now do rationalisation of √1√4
You will get √4/4 = 1/2

5%=1/20
√25% - 5%
1/2 - 1/20/=9/20
9/20=45%
Hence done very easy
